ROYAL - Mariánské Lázně

Mariánské Lázně is the youngest among Czech spa areas. It became a world-renown city soon after it was established; thanks in particular to its wealth of springs, whose diverse effects treat a broad spectrum of illnesses. Already at the beginning of the 19th century, it ranked among the most sought-after places for guests from throughout the world. Mariánské Lázně has been visited by many famous personalities, for example King Edward VII, Napoleon III, F. Chopin, R. Wagner, J. W. Goethe, Mark Twain, S. Freud, F. Kafka, ... Over the past decade, Mariánské Lázně has become even more beautiful. Every day, the singing fountain draws hundreds of visitors to listen to wonderful music and for walks along the colonnade.

In addition to medical care, Mariánské Lázně provides its guests with an abundant cultural and social life. Concerts, music festivals, dancing and social evenings, entertainment programmes, theatre performances, exhibitions. Located directly in the sanatorium is attractive seating in the cafe and the winter garden. Among summer sporting activities the most appealing are yachting, horseback riding, fitness centre visits, tennis courts and golf courses. Winter offers possibilities for skiing on a short run, many cross-country routes and a winter stadium. In the immediate vicinity are many historic monuments (the monasteries at Teplá and Kladruby, the castle and chateau in Bečov, the chateau at Kynľvart).
