In the case of contributory spa care (PLP), the health insurance pays only for the medical procedures, while the client pays for accommodation and meals himself. FAQ - Everything you need to know about your stay

When is spa treatment covered by health insurance?
This is stipulated in the valid Indication List of Spa Care, which you can find on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, for example. Here you can find information about the conditions of care and which specialist proposes the treatment.
How long is the spa care proposal valid?
The spa proposal for comprehensive treatment is valid for 3 months from the date of confirmation by the reviewing physician, and for contributory spa treatment for 6 months from the date of confirmation by the reviewing physician. You must enter the spa within this three or six-month period.
Will I have to pay extra for the spa treatment?
In the case of comprehensive spa care, your health insurance company fully covers spa treatment, meals, and accommodation. For contributory care, the health insurance company will only pay for the medical part of the stay.
What is the length of stay at the spa?
Comprehensive spa care, which is fully covered by the insurance company, has a basic duration of 28 or 21 days, depending on the indication/your diagnosis. For contributory spa care, where the insurance company pays for the treatments, and the client pays for accommodation and meals, the length of stay is usually 21 days.
Is your spa suitable for treating my condition?
This can be found in the valid Indication List of Spa Care, which is available, for example, on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Here, you will find a list of places where you can receive treatment for your diagnosis. What treatments will I get?
The specific treatment plan will be determined by the spa doctor during the initial examination based on your diagnosis and current state of health.
When do I go to the spa after a hip/knee replacement?
It is advisable to enter the spa as soon as your condition allows you to be loaded with medical rehabilitation. However, no later than 3 months after the operation, and in case of postoperative complications, within 6 months after the operation.
